How Balloon Man Got Started.

Making people smile has always been Bill’s thing. Before balloons, it was music. He spent years on the road playing drums with bands across the country, soaking up every genre and every crowd. It was in one of those bands that he crossed paths with a bass player who also happened to run a balloon decorating business. Bill started working alongside him, learned the craft, and discovered something unexpected: bringing joy to a room full of people felt just as good with balloons as it did behind a drum kit.

When his bandmate needed to step away from the business due to health challenges, the timing was significant for Bill too. He and his wife Emily were expecting their first child, and he needed to build something more stable and more his own. In February of 2009, Bill purchased the existing accounts and Balloon Man was born.

That was the beginning. Since then the company has grown steadily, built on word of mouth, repeat clients, and a simple commitment to showing up, doing excellent work, and making every space feel a little more alive. Bill still approaches every installation the way he approached every performance: give the room everything you’ve got, and leave people smiling.

Since 2009, we’ve served thousands of families, businesses, and event professionals across San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, and all of Central Texas. We’re certified balloon artists who show up on time, communicate every step of the way, and build designs that make people stop in their tracks.
